A visual archive of Marilyn Monroe’s flight history—

told through items of style, scale, and careful research.

This site brings together two carefully curated collections:

A series of vintage lighters—including licensed Zippo, Bic, and Champ designs celebrating Marilyn Monroe as a cultural icon, particularly the now-discontinued Stars of Hollywood series (2000–2005)—and rare mid-century lighters such as Pan Am-branded Penguin models and the Japanese Canary Singing lighter, chosen for their historical context.

Alongside them are 22 model aircraft representing verified flights Marilyn Monroe is known to have taken. Each was identified through photographs, airline timetables, and press archives. Paired together, these objects reflect a long-standing fascination with Monroe’s connection to aviation history—and the small, enduring artifacts that help bring her journeys to life.

A creative tribute years in the making—this page features my presentation of model aircraft and vintage lighters, thoughtfully paired to reflect the era and scale of Marilyn Monroe’s air travel. I find a quiet satisfaction in the contrast and detail of these small objects. Includes a link to a full Aircraft Model Photo slideshow.
